In-House Program (Grades 4K - 2nd):

4K-2nd Grade will be playing in our in-house league. 4K - K players will focus on skills and drills, fun games, and getting acclimated to basketball in Saturday morning sessions. Grades 1 - 2 players will focus on skills and drills, fun games, and getting further acclimated to basketball during one practice per week providing there is gym availability in addition to layering in game play against other MYB in-house teams on Saturday morning or early afternoons.

Teams will be formed through a random selection process. Grades 4K-2 will not have an assessment.  A reversible jersey will be provided.

Grades 4K - 2nd will run for approximately eight weeks (Dec-Feb) that is inclusive of a break around Christmas. For Grades 1 - 2, coaches may decide to start practices in mid-to-late November.

Travel Program (Grades 3rd - 8th):

League play in the Badger Development League moves to different schools around the region each weekend (Nov-Feb).   Typically, Badger league play includes 2-3 games all on one day for the weekend.

3rd - 8th-grade teams will also be playing in tournaments throughout the season and typically have several practices after school or early evening each week.  7th and 8th grade teams may have the opportunity to play a few extra tournaments.

Uniforms will be the same style as last season.  If you have a uniform that still fits your child, you will not need a new uniform.  If your child needs a new uniform, you can register for one in this process.  Uniform fittings will happen on the same day as the assessments for the program.   Please come early to assessments to get fitted for uniforms if you need a new one for this season.

This season we will be holding a two-day assessment.  We are asking all players to attend both days of the assessment process. It is strongly recommended for players to attend at least one of the assessments if they want to be considered for a competitive team.  These assessments will happen at Milton High School on Sunday, September 8th and 15th.   More information with specific times will be sent to all registered participants via e-mail at a later date so you know when your grade will be assessing.

Skills assessments will facilitate team selections.  The Badger League has leagues based on skill level for each grade.   Your player will be placed based on talent, composition of team, and player potential.  The goal of the MYB is to facilitate 100% participation for all players who wish to play, and every effort will be made to place them on a team that fits their ability.

Parents will be asked to acknowledge Parent/Player guidelines and expectations within the registration this year. We will also provide a copy at assessments to help ensure everyone has awareness which will lead to a successful season.

Parents will be contacted by your child's coach via email or phone when the team is formed.  The coach should be in touch with you by the middle of October at the latest for 3rd - 8th and middle of November at the latest for 4K - 2nd.   If parents do NOT hear from a coach by this time, please contact MYB.

Milton Youth Basketball relies on our dedicated family volunteers to ensure a successful season. Throughout the season, MYB will host various events requiring volunteers to assist with concessions, admissions, set-up, clean-up, and other tasks. As a requirement, each family must volunteer for a specified number of shifts per child in the program, anticipated to be two shifts per child. However, this may be subject to change based on BDL host dates and MYB tournaments.

A sign-up link will be provided at the start of winter via Dibs. Please note that you will not be asked to volunteer during your player's game and working the scores table (book or clock) does not count towards these volunteer shifts. If you choose not to volunteer, there is an opt-out option for a $100 fee per child within the registration process.

Milton Youth Basketball is looking for volunteer coaches for the 2024-2025 season.   If you are over 18, are good with kids and have a knowledge of basketball fundamentals please consider volunteering your time this season to be a head or assistant coach.

Coaches are needed from 4K to 8th grade.  4K to K In-House programs typically involve a Saturday only commitment.  1st-2nd Grade In-House programs typically practice 1 night per week and have a game on Saturday.  3rd to 8th grade teams typically practice 2 nights per week and have games on Saturday or Sundays.  If you're new to coaching MYB can provide a mentor to help you learn how to run practices and coach games.  Coaching can be a rewarding and fun experience and our program depends on volunteers to make it run.  Please consider helping coach a team this year.

If you're interested in volunteering to coach a team this year, please use the below coaches application to register. You will also be expected to sign off on a background check and upon completion of the registration, will receive a link to execute the abuse prevention training which is required to be completed before any player rostering will occur. Returning coaches do still need to complete all of the above each new season.  (Recommend opening the below link in a separate browser)
